Two wildcards riders at the Motul Grand Prix of Japan are running some very striking liveries celebrating what is the home GP for both riders and teams. Takumi Takahashi Team HRC With Nissin is showcasing a variation on the famous and well-loved HRC tricolour design, while Katsuyuki Nakasuga Yamaha Factory Racing Team is running an equally iconic Yamaha Speed Block livery, marking the 60th anniversary of the Yamaha brand.

Atraksi freestyle menggunakan YZF-R25 standard juga dipertontonkan untuk pengunjung. Sebelumnya, Yamaha Indonesia kerap mengeluarkan motor-motornya dengan livery tim pabrikan Yamaha MotoGP. The Japanese manufacturer was unsuccessful in its bid to defend its riders’ title with Fabio Quartararo in 2022, with the French rider scoring three wins and ultimately losing the championship to Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia. With Quartararo helping Yamaha to second in the manufacturers’ standings, the 2021 world champion was able to mask what was largely a difficult year for the brand. Teammate Franco Morbidelli struggled to adapt to the factory M1 and managed a best result of seventh on his way to 19th in the standings on 42 points, with all Yamaha riders across the factory squad and RNF Racing scoring a combined 89 points relative to Quartararo’s 248. Ahead of the winter shutdown, Yamaha had been testing a new engine in its bid to gain more power – though the version brought to the Valencia test last November was not met with praise by its riders. With pre-season testing resuming in Malaysia on 10-12 February, Yamaha uncovered a largely unchanged livery featuring some new grey camouflage stripes for its M1 at an event in Jakarta, Indonesia on Tuesday. I’ve done a lot of cardio to make sure I’m 100% fit for the 2023 season. “My hand injury is fully recovered now too, so I feel ready to fight for the title again. We have the new camouflage livery, which is a nice change. “I like the new look, and it’s good to switch it up a bit. But more importantly, I am looking forward to start riding again. “I am very curious to test the 2023 YZR-M1 in Sepang. We will work hard this season, as we always do. We have learned a lot in 2022, and now I just want to fight for the title again.” Morbidelli added “We are making a fresh start today, with a new look. Everything has gone back to zero and anything is possible this season, so that is an exciting prospect. “We’ve ended 2022 with an improved feeling. Yamaha will not have a satellite entry in 2023, after RNF joined forces with Aprilia when the former couldn’t agree to a multi-year deal with Razlan Razali’s outfit. Last year FIM president Jorge Viegas said Valentino Rossi’s VR46 team would become Yamaha’s satellite team in 2024 – something VR46 denied, claiming it will see out its Ducati deal.

The new M1, which will be campaigned by seven-time premier-class champion Valentino Rossi and Yamaha's most recent grand prix winner Maverick Vinales, will carry a striped black and blue colour scheme. This marks a departure from the primarily blue liveries that the works outfit ran throughout the last few seasons. The revised paint scheme is a legacy of a change in title sponsor, with Spanish telecommunications company Movistar replaced by energy drink giant Monster. “We're kicking off here in a very positive way,” Yamaha managing director Lin Jarvis said at the season launch in Jakarta, Indonesia. “I think the merging of these two brands [Yamaha and Monster] brings a new energy to the project. “We like a lot the colour of the bike, the design, it's more aggressive – and I think that's what we need to be.” Rossi added “I like very much [the new livery] – Yamaha is always blue, and the blue of the Yamaha is beautiful, but I like the black of Monster because [the combination is] the colour of my soccer team, Inter, so I feel comfortable." Monster was already backing both Vinales and Rossi before the change, and also served as the title sponsor for Yamaha's satellite team Tech 3 before the French outfit switched to the KTM camp in the off-season. “I'm excited that we've been able to step up and expand our visibility as the title sponsor of the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team,” said Monster chairman and CEO Rodney Sacks. “Vale and Maverick will be piloting what we think is the best-looking bike on the grid.” The works Yamaha team will look to rebound from what was a disappointing 2018, which marked its longest-ever win drought in the category before Vinales snapped the streak at Phillip Island. The underwhelming campaign led to the departure of Yamaha's MotoGP project leader Kouji Tsuya, who has been replaced by former head of chassis division Takahiro Sumi in the off-season. FROM cigarette companies to Playboy magazine, it's fair to say that MotoGP sponsorship is as varied and colourful as some of the people who ride the bikes on a race weekend. We've been watching the winter testing closely and while we love the moody-looking carbon fairings of the test bikes, the injection of colour that comes from the MotoGP team reveals got us thinking about the best MotoGP liveries Honda RCV213V Repsol Factory TeamIf you're a bike fan like me, there's a good chance when you pass a Repsol petrol station in Spain, you automatically think of MotoGP. The partnership between the Spanish oil and gas giant and Honda has been going for 25-years and has amassed 15 rider’s championships in that time. The fact that the orange bikes have been so successful and for so long are what make this an iconic Suzuki RGV500 PepsiBack in the hazy days of two-stroke 500cc racing, the RGV500 was one of the bikes to beat on the MotoGP grid. You’ll notice this isn’t the only RGV to feature in this run down, and that’s because Suzuki had a bit of a knack of getting the sponsors decals spot on for the bike and the Honda NSR500 RothmansAs a child of the 80s, tobacco sponsorship in motorsport was what I grew up with. From F1 to MotoGP and Le Mans, it was everywhere. And it didn’t really bother me, in fact, it bothered me more when it went away and all the racing series became bland, or worse - they tried to disguise the tobacco brand they were still being paid by with camo graphics!7. KTM Tech3 Red BullYes, I know it looks like a two-wheeled Toro Rosso F1 car but, I think Tech3’s first year with KTM is going to be their best looking yet. And I used to think the old black and yellow Tech3 was great looking but there’s something about the blue/silver/orange combo that just looks LCR Honda RCV213V CastrolI remember seeing Aaron Slight hammering around Donnington on a Castrol coloured RC45 in the mid-90s and thought it was the coolest thing since popping candy was invented. The only other time I felt like that was when LCR Honda wheeled a Castrol liveried RCV out of the garage for Cal Crutchlow to race at Silverstone back in Yamaha YZR M1 Rossi Winter TestI know it’s not a race livery but come on, this is cool – or is it just me! Taking its cues from Rossi’s sun and moon helmet design, where the sun signifies the smiley side of Rossi and the moon represents the dark, the bike is highlighted by some very mid-noughties fluro-accents on the on the number-board and front mudguard. The Doctor even wheeled out some specially made leathers to match!4. Suzuki RGV500 Lucky StrikeAnother iconic paintjob brought to you by the world of tobacco, the Lucky Strike coloured two-stroke also spawned a generation of race rep RGV250s – and a pretty natty line in shell-suit paddock jackets too!3. Yamaha YZF500 Speed BlocksYou could choose any number of special Yamaha’s for this paintjob but I decided to go for probably the most well-known, Kenny Roberts on his Yamaha 500cc GP bike. Kenny also used the speedblock design on his TZ750 two-stroke flat-track bike in the Yamaha YZF M1 Petronas SRTAnother colour scheme from the incoming MotoGP season is at number two, and from another new team. Petronas SRT Sepang Racing Team launched this classy looking design last week and I for one think it looks spot on. Petronas are no stranger when it comes to getting the most out of a racing machine's paint job, they’ve been daubing their name on arguably the best looking F1 car of the last 10-years, the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Honda RCV 213 Austin PowersWhether you’re a Rossi fan or not, you can’t deny the guy and his PR team are pretty clued up when it comes to getting the VR46 brand in front of every photographer’s telephoto lens. The psychedelic also known as the Austin Powers paintjob was run at the final round of the 2003 championship in Valencia, which was also the Italian legend’s last race with livery was chosen after title sponsor Repsol ran a competition with Spanish motorcycle magazine, Motociclismo, in which readers were invited to create a paint scheme incorporating the Spanish company's logo. Rossi Honda and Repsol then chose this design from 15 shortlisted entries.
